Francois Gouws, Managing Director

Francois was appointed to the position of Managing Director on 22 October 2010, prior to this Francois was the TRILITY Design and Construction Director, a position he held since June 2009.
During his 20 year career in the water industry Francois has held several engineering, project & business management as well as directorships. Francois has been responsible for delivering major projects throughout Australia, Africa and the USA. These projects include water and waste water treatment plants for municipal, petrochemical and mining industries using multiple technologies including evaporation and crystallization to achieve zero liquid discharge and maximum reuse.
Francois holds degrees and diplomas in mechanical engineering, water utilisation and business management.
Kiyoshi Shishido, Corporate Planning Director
Kiyoshi joined TRILITY from January, 2011 as a board member and in charge of Corporate Planning. He reports to Francois and has overall responsibility about corporate planning to support management level. He joined Mitsubishi Corporation, one of the shareholders of TRILITY, in 1980 and had experienced various businesses including major revitalization project as a project manager and led it to success in 1996. He assigned to USA in 1997 as a general manager of automotive division, Mitsubishi International Steel Inc. and had been stationed in Detroit until April, 2002. Afterwards, Tiger had been in charge of cutting-edge technologies and new business development such as nanotechnologies and carbon management in Tokyo head office and later, as General Manager of the Technology and Business Development Department.
Anthony Brown, Financial Director

Anthony joined TRILITY in May 2009 as Financial Director where he has overall responsibility for the strategic and operational finances and IT.
Before joining TRILITY Anthony was a Project Director with United Utilities plc. Anthony brings a wealth of experience to his role, with a career spanning more than 25 years; he has held various management and director positions in both the private and public sectors including Construction, Mining, Utilities, and International Business.
Anthony holds a BSc in Mathematics and Management Sciences, and is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant. Anthony is also a member of the Australian Leadership Team.
Ian Smith, Director
Ian commenced with TRILITY in 1995 and has since been responsible for leading the development of major projects for United Utilities in Australia, the UK, and Canada. Ian has primarily been responsible for delivering TRILITY growth objectives, and has led the company’s business development, commercial, and project delivery teams.
Ian possesses over 30 years private sector experience gained from the water and industrial markets in managing new business and project creation under all delivery forms including public-private-partnerships, O&M Concessions, Alliances, Fixed Price EPC, BOOT, BOO, DBO and Schedule of Rates.
Prior to joining TRILITY, Ian was responsible for delivering major projects in the chemical and materials handling industry.
Daisaburo Uchida, Chief Financial Officer, Financing and Tax
Daisaburo joined TRILITY in January 2011 as Chief Financial Officer, Finance and Tax where he has responsibility literally for finance and tax in relation to existing operations as well as new projects. Before joining UUA Daisaburo was Chief Financial Officer with Japan Australia LNG (MIMI) Pty LTd which holds one sixth of interests in the North West Shelf LNG project. Daisaburo brings abundant experience to his role, underpinned by a career of more than 20 years since he joined Mitsubishi Corporation in 1989; he has dealt with a great number of project finance transactions on a global basis from natural resources to infrastructure business including water related industry.
Richard Petterson, Operations Director

Richard joined the executive team in March 2009 as Operations Director, responsible for setting the strategic direction of TRILITY’s operations group and leading the execution of the company’s operational contracts. In this role Richard is responsible for all aspects of the Operations team’s performance including profitability, contract delivery, and health, safety and environment, quality and client relations.
With a career spanning more than 15 years, Richard has held senior positions in both the private and public sectors leading teams in a broad range of engineering disciplines which include environmental, civil construction and within the water industry specialised pipe rehabilitation and the provision of 24/7 civil maintenance services. During this time, Richard has successfully lead geographically dispersed teams of over 650 people, established new business through outstanding service delivery and development of winning bids.
Richard’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering and post graduate studies in Engineering Management.
David Taylor, General Manager, Design and Construct
David joined TRILITY in October 2011, as the General Manager Design and Construct, responsible for leading the department in the technical delivery and management of major capital projects and to support the business development and operational aspects of the business.
With over 30 years engineering experience, of which the last 21 have been in the water industry, David has a proven record of successful team management and project delivery in varied and challenging positions with the main focus being in contract management, claim management and mitigation, technical delivery, project, programme and commercial & supply chain management. This experience has been gained with consultant, contractor and client organisations in Europe, Asia and Africa across most types of water treatment.
David holds diplomas in Water & Environmental Management and Mechanical Engineering and is also a Chartered Environmentalist.
Julian Carne Head of Human Resources
Julian joined TRILITY in February, 2011 as Head of Human Resources where he leads the organisations people function and strategy.
Immediately before joining TRILITY Julian headed up the human resource function at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank where he led a large professional team.
Julian has 25 years experience in the corporate world working for large public and privately held companies. He has extensive experience as a human resources leader but also tangible line and P&L responsibility in manufacturing organisations. His experience spans Manufacturing, Retail, Service and Financial Services.
Julian holds a Bachelor of Management (Labour Relations) from the University of South Australia and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Adelaide.
Mark Griscti – General Manager, Proposals and Business Development
Mark joined TRILITY in 2005 as a Business Development Manager and in this time has been responsible for managing multidisciplinary project teams within consortiums responding to client EOI request and tenders and has lead a number of complex and varied tender submissions ranging from $4m to over $1b dollars. He is currently responsible for managing the business development and tendering activities for TRILITY.
Mark possesses over 25 years experience in the water sector. His experience spans across the fields of engineering design, contract administration, procurement, operations, project management, asset management, business development and commercial. This experience has been gained from working within the public and private sector, in Australia and Internationally.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mech) and a Master of Infrastructure Management (ANU) and is a certified practicing Engineer.
Tracy Bragg, Contracts Director

Tracy is responsible for managing the TRILITY Governance, Legal Team and also works with the Commercial and Business Development team in the management of the commercial affairs of the company.
Prior to this role, Tracy worked in the legal profession for 10 years with experience in major projects, including extensive public private partnerships experience gained during a 3 year term in the UK. Tracy has been with TRILITY for 7 years, originally appointed in the role of Corporate Counsel in 2004. Tracy spent the 3 years prior to that in private practice based in Manchester, UK. During that time Tracy specialised in public private partnership projects, acting for public sector clients including Manchester City Council and Ashford Borough Council.
Tracy’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance
Caroline Kerkhof, Communications Manager

Caroline, originally from SA, has returned home following 15 years in NSW. She joined TRILITY in July 2009 and has overall responsibility for the strategic and corporate communications for TRILITY. With over 10 years experience in delivering marketing and communication management services in both the public and private sectors in Australia and New Zealand, Caroline, through hands on experience, has developed expertise in aligning communications strategy with business requirements, conducting client/engagement surveys, both locally & internationally, to ensure in the delivery of right service.
Caroline has degree in Marketing and Communications and is a member of the Marketing Women’s Association. She is passionate about giving back to the community and has actively participated in volunteer activities with Wayside Mission, South Sydney RSPCA & Cure our Kids and also serves on the committee in a voluntary capacity for WaterAid.
Walter Munakata, Corporate Planning Manager
Walter Sagyo Munakata, Corporate Planning Manager. Walter joined TRILITY from January, 2011 as a Corporate Planning Manager in charge of supporting corporate daily activities. Walter joined Mitsubishi Corporation, a TRILITY shareholder, in 1992 and experienced global trading business in worldwide business. Since 2000, Walter has been transferred to Water Business Unit in charge of international water business including PPP type projects.
