Case Study two

  • Case study two

SURV was requested by Queensland Urban Utilities to undertake a critical valve exercise programme, consisting of nine water network valves that were either seized or difficult to operate. The valves were required to be confirmed as operational in preparation for a major network rezone.

One of the valves, a 600mm gate vale on a strategic supply main was seized in an unknown status and located on the off ramp of the M2 Freeway, near Muirlea, Queensland. The seized gate vale was released by SURV after previous failed attempts by others.

The SURV team successfully released and exercised all the valves and returned them to a fully operational condition. Through engaging SURV, Queensland Urban Utilities made a potential saving of $266,900, versus traditional valve replacement.

$266,900 potential savings. 100% success rate.
