TRILITY Hosts Work Experience Students at Upper South Creek Advanced Water Recycling Centre

5 Dec, 2024

Recently, The Sydney Water Upper South Creek (USC) Advanced Water Recycling Centre (AWRC) recently welcomed four work experience students from Cecil Hills High School (NSW) for a week-long immersive learning opportunity. The initiative provided the students with valuable insights into the design, construction, and operational phases of this innovative infrastructure project.

The TRILITY John Holland Joint Venture (JV) facilitated the program, showcasing the critical role operations play in shaping the project’s design and construction. Additionally, the students gained an understanding of the functions and responsibilities of an operations and maintenance company like TRILITY, particularly when the facility becomes operational.

Phil deGroot, TRILITY’s Operational Lead, delivered a detailed presentation using a 3D model to illustrate how TRILITY’s operational expertise influenced the facility’s design. He also explained the purpose of each operations module, providing the students with a comprehensive understanding of the site’s functionality.

Throughout the week, the students participated in sessions with various members of the project team, covering key areas such as mechanical and electrical engineering, quality assurance, environmental management, safety protocols, and civil works. This holistic approach offered the students a broad perspective on the diverse expertise required to deliver such a complex project.

The program highlights the importance of fostering community engagement and inspiring the next generation of industry professionals and Sydney Water, John Holland, and TRILITY extend our best wishes to the students as they pursue their future careers.
